We’ve got some exciting news – the next phase of public park is now open and ready for you to explore.
This new part of the park brings over 6,000m² of beautiful green space to the Leeds South Bank, connecting the Tetley and Crown Point Road. It’s the biggest piece of the park to open so far, and there’s even more to come as we work towards creating eight-acres of public park, the largest new city-centre park in the UK.
Whether you’re after a peaceful stroll, somewhere to relax on the grass, or space for the children to run around, there’s something for everyone here. Wide open lawns, colourful flowering gardens, playful mounds, and even a new woodland with 73 newly planted trees (including a cherry tree avenue we can’t wait to see in bloom!).
The opening of the park was celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony, attended by many of those who contributed to bringing this vision to life including Planit, Moortown Group and Palmer Landscapes. The ribbon cutting was followed by a family-friendly park picnic, open to all, complete with live music, face painting, and free ice creams. The perfect way to welcome everyone to the new space.
Come and see it for yourself. Aire Park is growing, and it’s all for you.
