Northern chooses Aire Park for state-of-the-art training hub and office

We are pleased to announce that Aire Park is set to welcome a state-of-the-art training academy and office for the next generation of train drivers and conductors.

The new facility which is being created by rail operator Northern, is our latest letting to be confirmed at our mixed-use neighbourhood and will see the company take over 20,000 sq ft across the second floor and one of the ground floor units of 3 South Brook Street.

Dan Westley, Head of Portfolio at Vastint UK, said: “In 2025 Aire Park truly blossomed into a real destination in Leeds and we’re incredibly excited for this to continue in 2026 and to have Northern become part of our story.”

“Our ambitions for Aire Park have always been to create a new neighbourhood on the South Bank of Leeds and breathe new life into this historic site. We look forward to welcoming Northern to the ever-growing diverse range of innovative and sector-leading businesses choosing to call Aire Park home.”

Northern will now undertake a comprehensive fit-out programme, and will join a growing community at Aire Park which currently includes TPT, interactive investor, Tesco, Devonshires and Jacobs in 3 South Brook Street, with Eversheds Sutherland set to relocate to the development’s newest building, Kellstone in 2027.

Vastint UK and Aire Park is being represented by joint agents Colliers and Savills.

Toby Nield, Director at Savills Leeds commented: “We worked closely with Northern Rail over a long period of time to accommodate their requirements. The unique nature of the operations NTL will be undertaking speaks of the versatility of 3 South Brook Street and our client, Vastint’s, flexible approach.

“Aire Park’s future-ready office space is the ideal placement for Northern’s state-of-the-art training academy and office and will be a great addition to the tenant line-up at 3 South Brook Street. Following a standout year in 2025, we look forward to building on this with further exciting tenant announcements throughout 2026.”
