Tesco opens as first retail occupant at Aire Park

We are pleased to share a big milestone in Aire Park’s journey – Tesco has officially opened as our very first retail tenant.

The brand-new Tesco Express opened its doors at the end of August, taking up a 3,488 sq ft space on the ground floor of 3 South Brook Street. It’s the first shop to launch at Aire Park, bringing a convenient and reliable shopping option right into the heart of our new district.

South Brook Street is already home to hundreds of workers, with leading organisations like Devonshires, TPT and interactive investor moving into Aire Park’s first commercial buildings. Tesco now joins them, helping to make Aire Park not just a place to work, but a place to enjoy every day.

As Aire Park continues to grow, South Brook Street will evolve into a lively hub with seven office buildings, almost 700,000 sq ft of Grade-A workspace, and around 40,000 sq ft of retail space. We expect this to feature a mix of much-loved local independents alongside big-name brands – creating the best of both worlds for the people who work, visit and live here.

Stephen Lindley, Managing Director at Vastint UK, commented: “Tesco is a welcome addition to 3 South Brook Street and will provide a convenient and reliable retail option for not only the employees at South Brook Street but also visitors to the evolving eight-acre public park at the heart of the development, and the people who will eventually call Aire Park home.”

Tesco is equally excited to play a role in shaping the new community here. Tristan Emptage, Property Planning Manager at Tesco, said:
“We’re excited to be the first retailer at Aire Park and look forward to seeing the benefits the ongoing development brings to Leeds. Our new store will play an active role in the community and offer a wide range of products to customers and great value through our Clubcard prices promotions.”
